Originally from Brazil, Giovana came to Pensacola in 2012 to play tennis for the UWF while pursuing her bachelor’s degree in business administration. It did not take long, and she became passionate about Pensacola and its vibrant community. As a student-athlete, Giovana joined the Executive Mentor Program and held the position of Executive Director of the American Marketing Association chapter at UWF. Giovana wasn’t ready to leave Pensacola, so she decided to pursue her MBA.
During her MBA, she worked as a graduate assistant at the Center for Entrepreneurship and held the positions of President of the Student Entrepreneurs Organization and Chair of the Graduate Student Advisory Board. She got to publish an article in academic journal, conduct projects at local companies, volunteer at local organizations, and participate in a civic tech competition where she and her teammates created a prototype that opened a new world for her. She refers to her UWF journey as the most radical roller-coaster ride of her lifetime.
Giovana believes that attitude is everything and the highest level of living is giving. Outside work and obligations, she spends her time playing soccer, slacklining, and biking.
